CPRT:  CHILD-PARENT RELATIONSHIP THERAPY

Child-Parent-Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a research-based, 10-session parenting course that teaches parents/caregivers how to use some of the same skills that a Registered Play Therapist™ uses to help children who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioral concerns.

Throughout the 10 weeks of CPRT sessions, Brittany meets 1:1 with caregivers for a parent-only visit (without the child).  Each week, the caregiver will learn an essential skill and then practice that skill at home, through play, with their child.

CPRT relies on the child’s natural means of communication – play.  The focus of CPRT is to enhance and strengthen the child-parent relationship by equipping caregivers with therapeutic tools to facilitate the development of secure attachment within relationships.
